Charity Horse Show April 2013

There’s something about the beach that seems to make everything better. Food tastes better, music is more enjoyable and horses seem more majestic.

Horses? Yep. Lots of them.

From April 26 to April 28, Panama City Beach’s Frank Brown Park will be filled with as many as 25,000 spectators and horse enthusiasts for the Gulf Coast Horse Show and Music Festival. The event is the perfect recipe for family-friendly fun and features some of the most prestigious horses in the country.

The entire weekend is filled with multi-breed horse competitions, live entertainment, unique performers and fabulous food. There are plenty of amusement rides for the kids and a multitude of local artisan crafts to peruse as well. And of course, the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches are never far away.

This year, the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration is partnering with the Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show to help make it the biggest event in the shows’ 14-year history.

“We look forward to the owners, trainers and exhibitors coming back to the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches and joining us and supporting the efforts of The Celebration to experience a fresh new version of fun in the sun,” Todd Fisher told The Walking Horse Report. Fisher has been with the Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show since its inception in 1998. “We want to continue the World’s Greatest breed of horses at this premier event in northwest Florida. Mark your calenders. You do not want to miss this!.”

The event features some of the top Tennessee Walking Horses in the nation. These horses are famous for their animated walk-run style and calm demeanor making them the perfect trail-riding horse. There are also steeped in southern plantation lore. Many other breeds are present, but these horses are the main attraction. Watching the horses being put through their routines is a fascinating experience for horse enthusiasts as well as the casual observer. A few minutes as an onlooker an you’ll quickly understand why.

The show has raised more than $750,000 in charitable contributions to local non-profit organizations giving show-goers another incentive to join in the fun and solidifying the community interest in the event.

The music, food, arts and other attractions that surround the event have helped make the Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show a traditional family favorite and a centerpiece of fond memories for those that return year after year.
